2. Research the blueprint stealing of a type you want
3. Visit a pirate station and get a bomb launcher EQ and a few emp bombs (you can also craft those)
4. Go to the station module you want and exit a ship. (be sure you are not in range of turrets)
5. Send your ship away from station and deploy Emp bomb and fire it up (stations will turn hostile)
6. Scan 4 leaks that will show up and you have a blueprint then TELEPORT away from station
Looking for leaks themself takes to long. Also you can just buy a dock blueprint from faction once you hit 10 with them.
I don't have Teleport... I can't afford the cost of BluePrint (IF) I even had the rep with the Paranids, and I'm not trying to start a war or get on anyone's bad side.
So, at the moment, I'm scanning the entire station (which does take time, but I'm fine with that); I just mainly need to know if I need to bother scanning non-E-Dock sections. I know my question wasn't worded very well; but I only need to know if I'm wasting time by scanning (for instance) a leak on a Container Module to get the E-Dock BluePrint.
Leaks only work for the module they are on sadly. So if you scan a module you already know you will probaly get something like station discount.
Oh and btw, the rep loss is non-existant if you do this.
Since you lack money here are 3 suggestions:
*Look araund asteroid fields for crystals, shoot them and then sell to vendors
*Visit some pirate sector and try to bail a pirate ship and take it over
*Go near some xenon gates and see if there is a fight. Look for boxes and sell those items inside to station vendors
One trick to spot station leaks from far away is to check for missions on map UI that ask you to fix them. Simply visit those stations and you should find one.
I did the crystal stuff in a previous game... and if Pirates attack and bail that will be a Very Sweet Bonus; Xenon I avoid like the plague (if possible), but in another run I may join the Navy :).
I know a lot of folks like to get as much as they can as quickly as they can; I just like to live the life; and at the moment, it's the life of a Poor Merchant, trying to get a station up and running :).
Then park next to the module you want. Exit ship, and launch EMP. Re-enter ship. Select the EMP and set it off from inside your ship. Now the po-po won't bother you. Exit your ship, and scan the four leaks that pop up.
So where were you 12 hours ago!!! I literally spent the day scanning Paranid stations trying to get that Bloody BluePrint, with no luck. I got a couple of connectors, which may come in handy, and a few discounts of which I was actually able to take advantage; but no BluePrint!!!
It took me another couple of hours to get my hands on an EMP Bomb; but about 20 minutes later I got the E-Dock BluePrint (woot - woot). Although it turned out the Pirates actually had a better E-Dock (Looks wise); but still... I got theirs :) woot!!!
Thanks for all the Help and Input... time to move on to the next stage - LOL!!!
Also a really slim chance to steal them with out the emp, but I scanned like 12 stations before I found one BP its really just easier to use the bombs. You can also get a bomb launcher from station traders its not contraband for some reason. But unless you loots tons of drops from blown up ships you will need to scan stations for missions from pirates who will then give you access to a black market trader.
I only seem to have issues with remote triggers got lucky first black market contact I got had 13 of them, I bought them all, and my HQ has lots of unstable crystals laying around from the NPC miners so I got those in the hundreds as well. Secure containers you can buy from station traders its just more of a rare thing to see, I have to hit like 10 traders to see them up for sale but considering I use them for free BPs that are worth millions its an inconvince I can deal with lol
