Factory not getting helium
Hi!

My new factory isn't getting helium, it has 3 L gas miner attached to it, and the helium stock is always empty...

Here's some screen:

You can't set your buy offer to 1. That will affect your own miners too. Even if they're assigned to that station, they don't see that the station "needs" it. You're literally telling the entire universe that you only want 1 helium stocked at that station.

If you want only your miners to supply it, then assign the miners to the station, and max out the buy amount (or set it to auto buy amount), then tick the "restrict other factions" box.

seems to work for now, the miner is getting helium!!!! but we'll see if it delivers it!
He will deliver it, otherwise the station manager wouldn't have sent him out to mine.

But remember, if you set your buy amount say halfway for example, they will only put that much in the station. You'll see them hanging around the station with partial loads only delivering a little bit at a time. That's because they are "topping off" your buy amount. Just leave it set to auto buy, and they will fill it all the way up.

Do the miners have gas drones? Only thing I can think of other than not being within range of helium.

yes they have.

I think i've put too many miners, maybe they're just standing buy or producing the minimal quantity for the station to work? The station isn't overproducing maybe?

i've removed all the restrictions, and one gas miner finally mooved. just setting "buy offer" amount to 1 and that's it.

we'll see

the ship has helium, but it doesn't deliver it to the station...

i'm not assigning miners to stations, i'll just set them to sell in this system, and buying from npc if i must... need the production to go on.

I would def assign the miners to the station. You cannot rely on supply unless you do. Note also that when assigned to the station they can travel a number of gates equal to either station manager's or pilot's star rating (whichever is the greater) to mine the gas. They can't do that standalone unless they got 3* pilots (and good luck with that).

Things I would check if they don't work:

1. There is actually Helium available in range. You can check this using one as standalone if you set it to sector mine. If it can't find any it will stay on searching for resources for ever :(

2. Make sure a large gas miner does not need on board drones to actually mine gas and you've forgotten to include them. I'm not sure, but I do know for certain that a large mineral miner does 'cos i just bought one and forgot about the drones and the station manager tried to put it on autotrade until I trekked it back to the ship yard to give it some mining drones. Then it worked fine.

This is your problem ... assing that gas miner to your station ... then your problem will be solved .... always if you want your station to have ore / gas then assing your miners to that station its not that hard to figure this out m8 ... btw you can always give money to your director to buy this kind of product but its not wise better to do this for your own with your miners .

Sorry for my bad english its not my native .

you've misunderstood me, i'm not assigning them "anymore". i'm not dumb. thx anyways

they have drones, and a fine pilot (thx mods). They're mining (they have resources), but they're not delivering it to the station, they're just standing still, full of resources, and doing nothing while my station needs it...

Very dumb question: does your station have a manager?

yup, 5 star management and 5 stars morale

and i can't understand why, on the same station, everything works fine for Ore and Methane, but not for helium...
gigastar Apr 12, 2020 @ 5:43am
The only thing i think it could be is that you assigned your gas miners to the station before the production module was complete.

When you do this with any miner they wont begin mining even after the production modules finished building.
[FiFu] Dovahskill Apr 12, 2020 @ 5:46am
nope, i tried multiple time to undo the assignement, but nothing worked...

i'll try with M miners, just to see if the problem is the size. I have a Large ship dock, but maybe it can't work properly, idk...
[FiFu] Dovahskill Apr 12, 2020 @ 6:17am
Same problem with M ships, silicon worked but not helium. I'm trying one last thing.
[FiFu] Dovahskill Apr 12, 2020 @ 6:28am
Well, the last thing didn't work.

So, no assignment, just buying, great.
BoogieBoX Apr 12, 2020 @ 6:29am
They mine Methane but not Helium? Very strange. What about the storage allocation for Helium? Maybe it was put to 0 for some reason? Try to select one of your Helium miner with full cargo and do "Transfer wares with", just to see if indeed you can store Helium. If you can, then I guess the manager is not updating the trade offer for some reason...
