3 star skill version will mine and find stations automatic from sectors that are more away.
The the two other issues are that you should make sure to have a satellite cover your target refinery(s) and you should not over stock a sector with miners or they will saturate the refinery and end up waiting around unable to sell their loads.
If there are 2 mining stations in sector, it will go to one that pays the most.
This is incorrect. I have had ships mine in a sector WITH a refinery, but sell to a farther refinery a sector away for cheaper prices, thereby losing money.
mining never lose money, it's pure money profit, however sometime it's low, and sometime it's high, but never lose money, it's always profit, no matter how small, but auto trader, could lose profit because buy high and sell less, that's would happen, not like mining sell less and still profit because mining don't paid anything beside buy ship one time, then profit rest overtime.
That should only come about if:
a) the two sectors concerned were part of the same system (e.g. two of the three parts of Grand Exchange). Some of these group sectors are considered a single sector for mining purposes.
b) you lack sat coverage on one or both refineries in question. I.e the miner "thinks" the other refinery is offering the best price on the last information it had which is now out of date.
Otherwise this would be a bug and needs reporting.
