Use the filter on the top right to search for pillager and plunderer, then go look around the sectors. You need good satellite coverage tho.
Players often overlook boarding plunderers as a really easy way to make money early game, specially the phoenixes, they're dirt easy to capture because all the blind spots. Then repair everything with the repair laser, dock it on a shipyard, strip everything FIRST then sell the hull to the station that pays the most, you don't even have to fly it there.
Pillagers are not very worth it, unless you have a setup just for that with weak weapons, and have a lot of patience, or luck. Can make more $$ doing missions in less time.
Capturing plunderers was how i got a Rattle about 10 hours into on this playthrough :)
@Xenomorph
I never could capture one of the destroyer class ones. Every time I try some random police patrol wanders into the area and starts lobbing missiles at it while my marines are trying to take control of it. Probobly why it gets overlooked as an income source by alot of people.
The smaller M class ones though I like capturing if I can. The ships make defence marine transports once stripped of any weapons & its always a profit to sell off their deployables cargo... so many mines & laser sats lol
