what am i doing wrong when buying consumables?

i'm currently docked and trying to buy some satellites. When i select the number of satellites i want, the 'add to shopping list' button changes colour but it wont light up when i mouseover it.

The only way i can find that makes it light up is if i buy some of the ship upgrades which i dont want to do, its only consumables i want.

Is there something obvious im missing? is it a bug or am i doing it wrong?

I think we'd need a video or screenshot of the issue to figure it out.

i've been messing about with it for about an hour now and the only way i can get the 'add to shopping list' button to light up is by purchasing or selling at least 5 different items, wether they are consumables, crew or upgrades.
It doesnt matter what it is i originally want to buy or upgrade, i've got to purchase/sell 5 things in total or the shopping list button wont let me click on it.

anyone else had this happen to them?
