Autotrading (sector/universal trader)

Hey!

Tried to browse through the pinned topic but I can´t find my answer. Earlier when I played X4 after release I could right click after choosing a ship and order autotrade or sector trade when in map. Now there is no such option, even in default behaviour autotrade is grayed out from the list of orders. I only seem to be able to start the autotrade order in default behaviour when a freighter is assigned to my station and then it only trades the wares of the station. Even then in default behaviour all options are grayed out so I can't dedicate a ship to a certain ware.

My question is sector trader/universal trader still a possibility or does autotrade only work for my station purposes (i.e sold and baught wares). Is there a requirement I'm missing? Even with all software it does not work. Pilot skill?

Your pilot needs skill 3, which takes a long time to achieve even with seminars. You'll need to either start hunting seminars through missions or rely on your stations for money i'm afraid

Well seminars (pilot for 1 star) only works up to star 2? Then the pilot has tp earn 3 by himself? What is the quickest way to level up? Do they level up by manual trading?

Apparently, you need pilot levels for trading, but when trading, you get management experience.

Well the pilots I have from the start of the game don´t have more then 2 stars and that was after boosting them to 2 stars with seminars. Been manually trading with them all the time. I'm getting tired of manually trading. Have the spend all time on micromaniging. Automining works alot better, you can just set it up and forget about it and you have a steady income. Was hoping to level up my traders but seems like pilots dont get over 2 stars so the will probably never autotrade then.

Best way imo is either do it manually or build a station and link the traders to the station, then the station manager sends out the traders to auto trade (keep in mind the range of gates is bound to the managers skill on the station manager 1 star is 1 gate, 2 stars is 2 gates, 3 stars is 4 gates, 4 is 9, 5 is 13 gates app)
