Controller or HOTAS

What say you players? Does the game benefit from playing with a HOTAS or is a controller or KB+M better?

Better stick to KB+M unless you know your HOTAS very well and can configure it yourself.
I'm, of course a KB+M guy but I hear too many complains from users with Controllers. HOTAS users usually ask for help in configuring but after that we don't hear of them in that matter

I prefer HOTAS myself for X4 (T-16000M + TWCS throttle). It works great, took me a little bit to find a configuration I liked though.

Even with a HOTAS, I still use mouse + keyboard for some things in X4.

I use a hotas and it works great once you have it setup. Very immersive compared to KB & M. I use the T.Flight HOTAS 4. It sits comfortably in my lap, and I use it when flying. I just slide out my keyboard+mouse(my desk has a sliding tray for them) when I walk on stations it works really well.

I have the 16000M and TWCS combo as well. Just tried a few tutorials and jumped in. I'm completely lost on what to do to get started. I'm an old hand at Elite, Privateer and others. Can anyone recommend a good video series on how to get up to speed on playing the game, not just controlling it. Thanks.

Not a fan of HOTAS for Space Ships. I use a dual joystick combo

I used a warthog hotas. Add in Andre's Jet Seat, and Track IR, and it rocks! You can feel the roar of the engines as a big transport lands while you stand on the docks. And the warthog works great for things like MW5 mercenaries, and of course flight sims like Falcon BMS, DCS, etc. If you are into space and flight sims, a Warthog Hotas is worth the investment.
