they´re for the online part of the game where you can send a ship on a mission for severall hours and it will come back with credits, items and paintjobs.
your ship will appear in other peoples game, just like theirs do in your game (on the map they´re yellow and usually have different names then the ones you´re used to from the factions.
Thanx for the info Mate!!!
Though I'm happy for players to say I'm wrong on that saying they have seen their friends ships in their game, but not seen anything like that yet.
So from what I understand, when you send your ship out on a venture it basically uploads the ship, gear and paintjob to a master list of ships out on ventures.
Then when the game decides to spawn one it grabs a random ship off that list and creates it.
Because of this the same ship can show up in multiple games at the same time.
Also unless the venture fails there is no reason to switch out the ship so most people keep sending the same ship out each time.
@ Vaemer-rift - that is my understanding of it yea, though I've never actually used it as my game was modded before that even came out with a couple of QOL mods (not game changers).
Bottom Line is: If You don't like it, Don't Use It; but why go out of your way to get someone else not to use it either?
It is important for people to have a hobby, you can discuss whether it is a healthy one.
But I agree with you 100%, mods are destructive to player, and game.
but no1 care.
