Ship stuck in "scheduled upgrade for this ship"
So, sold my first ship, bought a new one with minimum load out, added a shield generator and gun to it, but... It won't add the shield generator and gun. I've been staring at this screen for 15 minutes now, do I need to talk to someone to start the upgrades or what's going on? If it takes that long, where can I see the progress?

If the station has other ships being built queued or it's out of resources (and waiting on resources) you're upgrade won't happen until it's both got the available resources and it's the 1st place in the queue.

That's why it's best to you Upgrade stations as opposed to Wharfs/shipyards when upgrading your own ship but again you have to keep an eye on whether it says it's "ok" or low on materials before you start or you could find yourself waiting. (although in one of the recent updates it's suggest you can now quit the upgrade process)

If you want to know what resources are missing and you are using a Wharf or Shipyard, one way is to "buy another ship" (don't actually buy another one, but start the process of buying another one, it will show you what resources are missing)

i have the same Problem "scheduled upgrade for this ship".. the Wharf where i'm at doesn't say that there is some material missing nor does it have ships being built

If there is NOT a captain on board the ship, it will be a very long time, assign one and do not sit in the seat. Then go do another task with another ship in another sector, then come back an it will be done.

Early game, it can be tricky to buy ships, from my experience. The economy starts weak-ish, and factions also want to rush some ships. That said, it can take some time, as build materials can run out and not enough factories to supply quickly. Later on things get better, as factions will start building more stations, and supply increases. But yeh, its an odd situation.

There is one small shipyard in paranid space that can help you start pretty well.
It also has some other secrets.
You can buy trade ships there and re-supply other faction as i never seen a ship Q there.
If you're sure the wharf/shipyard is fully stocked to complete your order, and you're STILL stuck with a scheduled upgrade... Select your ship, go into behavior and make sure you don't have orders qued up for your ship that makes them dock and wait. Happens sometimes if you have a pilot for your ship. Canceling the dock order usually just fixes this.

This. This is what fixed it. That issue has been bugging me to SO long. Thanks dude!

MIN owned stuff is usually well stocked and there is always ALI as a backup since they never build ships unless the player orders them.

I had the same problem after auto-landing on a Wharf. (w/o a registered pilot, just me as the pilot)
I ordered a ship up-grade and it just sat there w/o any reason why for the delay.

I went into the ships Behavior tab and saw (1) Docked and waiting for orders (2) ship upgrade.

I don't know how the "Docked and waiting for orders" que happened, I landed the ship manually, until, the auto-dock took hold.

Finally, after deleting the "Docked and waiting for orders" que my ship started upgrading immediately, bug maybe?
That docked and waiting for orders should only happen when you remotely order your AI captain, not when you pilot the ship yourself into the auto-dock position.

I use the map for upgrades and ship buying. If it hangs and all materials are there, I just cancel the upgrade, remove all orders then through the map do the upgrade again. Argon and Teladi usually resources. For Paradin, prepared to have traders to bring in the lacking resources.

That is exactly what i need, i want to know which resources i need for only that action, if it stucks. That should be implemented in the game, instead of having to work around to get any informations.

I just made a Syn and it only has a captain, so when I went to add the rest of the crew elsewhere (and just the crew, no other upgrades) I get my ship into the upgrade dock (maintence bay?) and it gives me this "scheduled for upgrade" eternally.

I've tried manually doing it, switching docks and stations, and even reassigning/changing the captain.

Nothing works.

Also, the turrets dont shoot on the ship for some reason. I thought it was due to the missing crew, but now I'm not sure.

I am starting to see this now. I am at an equipment dock. I am sitting in the seat. Sometimes I can save and reload the save, but it isn't guarenteed. The equipment dock isn't short on resources and I am not behind a line of ships being built. This seems to be a bug with a recent update.
