You are forced to micro manage much stuff that shouldn't need it....AI problems... then the stuff you should be able to manage you can't. Makes the game more confusing than it should be. No tutorial on hiring for stations, but you see the function in the station build..... and no means to hire... You can only think the mechanic is broken....but it isn't... That is bad design when the player can't figure out some of the basics.
Production stops when output storages are full or inputs are empty. If a production is losing money then stop buying its raw materials at high prices and stop selling the product at a low price.
There is nothing to figure out. Place habitat modules and people come automatically. If they do not immediately see this, they will eventually when people start to move in.
You can switch a production que storage limit to halt production of a product at your leasure..
Go to the station Logical Overview tab - > Select the item you wish to limit -> Disable automatic storage allocation and ajust the slider to specify the maximum storage you wish that product to occupy. - Hint, Make it 3-4X the ammount used per hour by your station (if applicable)
I didn't read the whole thread, because I am lazy. But just to back fire on your claim, there is a check box that says something about not trading with other factions. If you un-check that, all the resources you gather are yours to use. So, it does not cost any money to produce anything at all... You just use mining ships and a self sustained factory to build the complete chain of goods...
Your welcome.
