It's me Again ... Docking Large Freighter
First of all this game is really worth the trouble but not the ulsers ... why is every thing I try connected to some secret hand sign I know nothing about. There is always a requirement I don't know about until something does not work. Now I just bought a large freighter and docked to load some parts. The storage is already full of something (just built the darn thing). I assume it is missiles so tried to fly to and redock with the Shipyard to offload some of the missiles and the Shipyard will not let be dock ... obviously this game is second nature for previous X4 owners but NOT for newbies even with years of experience with space games ... What secret high sign do I need to get this darn thing docked and working properly ...

Have not expierenced any issues landing so I am not sure what the issues could be. They are harder to line up on docking pad than smaller ships. But if ya have installed any sort of docking computer then it should not be so bad to do .

yep ... got the d comp ... I probably did not aim high enough at the port so did not get permission. Just docked in another system to drop off my cargo and I went in high and got the dock permission. Then had to wait a while while the system atuomatically backed me up and raised me at some distance to announce dock completed ... deifinitely different from any other ship I have tried so far ... tks

You dont "land" Large Freighters, you dock at the pier. L Ships require cargo drones to move wares across as they are too large to land on docking platforms, which only allow S and M sized ships to land.

Piers can be sppotted by the shiping cart icon at the end of a long "arm" type module.

yep for sure .. noticed that ... kinda cute little trawlers coming in and out .... now another new problem. Trying to satisfy a 1000 unit parts deficit on a wharf where I want to buy another Corvette calss ship. Made 3 trips already with 700 units each trip. Each time I deliver 700 units the Wharf asks for even more. This appears to be a futile effort in Exponential increase ... the more I bring the more it wants. I think the devs need to tweak their economic equations and derivative (Equations) fulfill rates ...

Keep going. Your build is in a queue, you need to satisfy the parts for the ships in front of it first. It will eventually finish.

Was afraid of that ... there are 8 ships ahead of me ... long time to do probably ... oh well ... space is supposed to be endless ... lol ... tks

Does seem like overkill sometimes as it applies to any kind of ship modification and can't be cancelled. E.g. I once decided to sell some missiles I'd looted at a nearby wharf only to find I was stuck in the production queue. Had to ship thousands of engine parts and smart chips into the sector just to be allowed to sell the missiles to the station.

cause a lot of orders for ships, but it will slow down and eventually you will catch up. Depends on how busy the port is

dont ... smell the profit? tsssssssssssss

this is the welcome in the industry:
you need ship, you dont get ship,

and the secret is: you make BIG station and LOTS profits!

everyone experience shortage of wares in shipyards! this is your starting investigation.

you will have a LONG time fun just feeding the shipyards.

I took 20 production modules of smart chips, 3 drive parts, (expanded enough on)
some 10 sensor bundle production, quite a 200 mio credit station and can be 400.

and this trick works really...

as soon as you serve up drive parts, you will get other deficides, but only deliver drive parts are already many resources and cash for you.

this way, is the 'tutorial way' to get into the game: by raw need.

isnt this incredible? THIS is the real economy, it has bottlenecks... and it HAS.

smelllll profitssssssssss!
