Mods Directory.... just some info for anyone

Just Finished trying to get the game to run with 14 mods i got from nexus.

1. I placed all of them in C:\Users\ME\Documents\Egosoft\X4\27157500\extensions.
Game would not launch looked in Task Manager was stuck at 54k ish. end task and done some reading.

2. Moved the extentions folder with all 14 mods to E:\Steam\steamapps\common\X4 Foundations\extensions. Same as befor failed to launch stuck at 54k ish. End task again and done some more reading.

3. Moved all mods to a desktop folder and had 2 empty extentions folders in my docs and steam egosoft. Placed 2 mods at a time into the steam/x4/extentions folder then tried to launch the game if it failed moved 1 of the 2 to my docs/egosoft/x4/*******/extentions tried to launch the game again if it worked i moved on to the next to mods if not switched them around.

15min of messing about like this i got it to work no use me listing what mods they were and what folder they worked in from what i can understand its difrent for every one.

Weird. I stuck all my mods in steam/x4/extentions. Never had a problem. I think I have about 10 mods running. (of course I made sure my mods don't do the same things but with different names)

I only got it to work with one mod in the steam/**lextensions folder, and the cab files in the game directory, all other mods in the documents/**/extensions folder.

well if we can fill this post with how we got mods to work might help others if the look and not just make a new topic.

I got my issue narrowed down to the 'boarding party fix' extension, the one that makes elite teams board ships faster? disabled that one and my game got past the 44% load i was stuck
