I did this for the first two hours. The problem is the AI doesnt fire torpedos in vollies and even then shoots them sporadically. The corvettes spend most of the time strafing the station with their primary font guns (typically a beam or pulse laser). so I would teleport between them and fire a volly and move to the next ship but damn that is too much work. I must have dumped 10 million in reloads beffore I decided this was not a good plan.
Also I used 90 mk2 laser turrets, L odysseus and 2 M corvettes with pulse loadouts.
Is there a way to select individual modules from the map or do I have to selct them in pilot mode? When I select a station I only get a single target in the middle of the station.
For example I dropped 90 laser towers and they killed the dock module but then never swapped targets so were shooting empty space.
Unless you're using a major weapons mod or a super-expensive full missile loadout, you might as well stick to corvettes and smaller. Capital ship weapons, and all turrets, are much, much weaker than even S-class weapons in the vanilla game. Except missiles.
i do use the weapon buff mods off the nexus for L turrets it atleast brings them up to par enough to fight with
I had to tweak them myself. Not just L turrets--I tweaked all turrets to be as powerful as the fixed weapon class beneath them (yes, there's a mod that did that, but it overlapped with the shield rebalance no-delay mod, so I used that one and tweaked it.) They're still too weak though, I think I'm going to leave my M turrets alone--can't have the turrets on my 'vettes be as powerful as the main guns--but I'll buff the L-class turrets up to a bit MORE powerful than equivalent M-class guns.
