I don't know if you can auto-mine in a station that has no ore refinery? (Command would be right click with selected ship and role -> miner, which makes the ship subordinate)
Maybe workaround by adding a refinery but not a ship bringing in energy cells.
So in a game where the greater part is economics, you can not even have a functional warehouse? So you have to wait for the next patches and dlc. God.
Once again, Egosoft and their only, perfect UI vision.
I've not tried to see what happens if a ship is assigned as "Mining for" a station without production modules but as you can select the command in the UI on stations with only storage I'd presume the option does what it says and the ship then mines and drops off cargo until the station's storage is full. Once assignedthere is also a range setting in the behaviour tab to tell a ship how many jumps/gates it's allowed to move away from the station to get its goods. Does "Mining for" not work?
The command (transfer warez ...) you are talking about does not unload ships, actually does not do anything.
Any combination with the 'default behavior' has no effect, because the ships just begin to mine and sell. And that's why I thought that in my station I could set a buy order with a high purchase price but at the same time forbid the station manager to trade with foreign ships. But you cannot just make a random buy order like in X3.
I am a little annoyed because EGOsoft, or rather die-hard fans of the company explain that the game is a sandbox but what kind of a sandbox is this if the toys are broken, and you can not do the simplest things that the veteran of this series of games would have come up with.
Just assign a mining ship, add solid wares in logical overview, and create a buy offer. You will need a special trade rule to avoid buying them from npcs.
Now i wish they would use the mining ship to sell them as well, but that part seems impossible, or require a high skill manager. Does anyone know something about it?
A distribution center by station management doesn't seems to work either, it buys, but it doesn't sell. It would clean the unassigned ships list.
