Best load-out for a mining ship?

Watched a fair few vids on this but I'm still a bit confused.

Using M size argon miners.

Do I need defence turrets on my miners or more mining lasers?

Do the mining turrets with the main mining laser yield a fast mine?

Do NPC's attack miners?

PS. I am a bit new to the X series but I'm loving every second despite some game breaking bugs.

just buy the cheapest modules and the cheapest miner drill, no need to add turrets at all, make it cheap and dirty :) it works fine

you only need to add those marked in red, no need for advanced software etc

Yea I dont even think you need any mining turrets on the m if you use automine.

Temporal Acceleration device. It used to be the mainstay for fast travel until travel mode was introduced. A change from static speed and accelerate time to accelerate speed, static time.

I've followed my own ore miners before and they seem to just use the mining turrets... Although I got the feeling the drill is the critical component and when not watched, the turrets dont provide any benefit

I think, with 1.32, we’ll have to start sending fighters out as defense for the miners.

For M sized miners: I usually go for the cheapest engines, thrusters, fit a mk 2 mining drill and mk1 mining turrets to increase mining ability. the paranid miners are unable to use mining turrets so i stick some pulse or bolt turrets on.

good. and screw small miners i have a magnetar mining nividium 1.2 million per haul. sure i spend 11mil on it 6 mil jut the mk3 thrusters lol. but it has payed for it self several times over. and for defence lots of beams and defence drones.
