Never timed it but I think it was like 10 minutes out of sector or something. Not that long.

I had an incident where I accidently.. hit a HOP station with about 20 or so heavy torpedos.

It switched immediatly for me as soon as my character was out of the sector and the offending ship I was travelling took off.
In other words I landed hot...got out of the ship, teleported to another sector station and had the AI Capt take off which the ship since the illegal cargo was inventory items on me and not on the ship.

They sure would appreciate the oops after half the station blew up ;)

But I was wondering the same as when you get caught with contraband near a station the station also turns hostile together with that security ship. If you are far enough away from the station only the security ship will turn hostile.

And I had games where this could take up way longer then 10 minutes up untill the point I just decided it is not worth risking losing more time and loading a save just before I get scanned and they turn hostile.

I just hit ctrl-d as soon as I get the notice they are scanning my ship. As in the current state of the game it only scans your inventory items when you are piloting the ship yourself. As soon as you are out of the pilot seat you are immune to those scans.

So I should take a Limo (AKA my Modded Nemesis 'vette) whenever I need to go somewhere w/o teleporting :) Good to know :)

Total accident, this stuff happens to people all the time. I went to hit the open comms botton to get docking permission and accidently hit the arm switch and bumped the fire button which got stuck.

I am mean if we are going to get technical its the assembly line guys fault who built those control buttons in the first place.

But of course no, all the station manager could go on about was how his office has been vaporized and his spouse and children were on fire and the rat like thing those Paranid's call pets got blown out of a hull breach into space. The guy clearly over reacted and was totally unprofessional.

So of course he reported me to the authorities, but we all know the only reason he went after me is because I'm an Argon and he is just another racist Paranid.
