Yes, select a miner, and right click on the station, assign as miner.
If it dosent work can depend on many things, like demand or settings...
My setup is: miner mine ore (for station), unload it in station (solid storage) then it transfers to
the refinery (same station) that makes "refined metals" and drop that in container storage.

But, my miners deliver just a fraction of their carhohold, like an amount of 37 to 140 silicon at a time.
So it's an endless ballet of miner ships at the docking area right now :)

Then you can pretty much right click on the station -> Mine for (Station)
But even if this behaviour is kind of weird, it looks to work just fine. I think the station is "pulling" wares from miners in order to have 2 cycles of production of margin. Maybe something like that.
