Way to hide mouse pointer in-flight?
I use a X52 HOTAS flight system and I can't seem to find a way to hide the mouse pointer while in-flight. Find it annoying sometimes thinking it is my pointer for a target.
Would like it to disappear after a second when in-flight and then reappear when I move the mouse (use a mouse and bluetooth numpad for menu and platform controls).

To hide you need to set the Gamepad Mode to joystick/controller.
That way when you move the stick the cursor disappear.
The problem is.... you will have drift if you use the mouse. The ship can slowly roll and the map will move or roll. Move the stick or throttle will fix the drift but it is annoying.

You can try to remove anything related to the joystick axis from the map controls and see if it helps.

Yes, this is a problem of the game, a bug, bad implementation and it will be like that forever

Exactly what I would like too! It's painful to have it around when flying with Hotas, should have a way to hide it when not needed.

Thanks mate, that worked for me. No drift in map so far but happens when I go back to flight till I use the stick.
Now though, ships highlight when my centre reticule is over them but this is less annoying than the mouse pointer.

I'm going to have to go back as targets locked in the map don't stick and I can't lock a target when my reticule is over the target.

I have this same problem with screen movement when I move the cursor from it's centered position with the mouse while in flight. The movement continues in the map. When I accelerate or change attitude the cursor recenters and that odd movement stops, until I move the cursor again. This problem has been driving me crazy as nothing I do fixes it. I have tried starting a new game with a new control profile and mapping and try just about every control related setting on or off. My last hope is a reinstall but it's a dim hope. I'm using a Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X
For me this problem is more than an annoyance or irritation. There are situations in gameplay when that map movement or a change in my ships position is enough to get me killed.
There was a short time when this problem didn't exist. I was very happy withe the game and the HOTAS X so I don't want to go back to mouse and keyboard. If it worked once it should be able to work again. Maybe I did something wrong, but what?

Edit: I just tried turning the Game Pad Mode option in Contrtol settings from For all controllers and Joysticks to Off and that problem stopped. So far everything works good and I am happy again with X4.
I think the solution was already explained by Dreatern but my noob self didn't get it.
