what is explore mode doing

i i have set the starter ship on explore in argon prime and its not doing a lot to be honest its not exploreing the map it just flying around the center of what to explore

Don't use it currently. Just plot a course by yourself. They'll fix it later.

My ships seem to work if they are set to default behavior explore. If I just right-click and explore, they don't seem to get the job done, although my pilot's skill may not have been high enough. My default behavior explorers will go to the center of the system, ping a few times with the radar, and then start working their way to the unidentified objects. It takes a little while.

I use the RMB "Explore" command and just Q up waypoints and have them "explore" the sectors that way. I also tell them to drop some Sats and Probes in those Q orders. Works just fine. Now the Default Action Explore might be "broken" but again a lot of those Default Actions seem tied to Capt Skill level?

Right click auto-explore works fine for me but it takes hours.

If i click auto explore i get a circle mouse cursor with the text above "select object" , thing is, when i click something, nothing happens.. manual explore works. bug or am i missing something?

When you use the "fly to" command or set the location of the auto explore - any idea how to change the Y setting on the map for the ship? I can only tell ships to fly to the X/Z location so they are always on the plain.

Ya the explore command is killing me. So tedious to manually setup every sector. I like what I'm seeing on patch progress but waiting to play again until this crap is fixed. I miss the explore universe command from Litcube mod back in X3!
