does the falcon sentinal just suck or what?
while in my vanguard, i move my mouse left...and the ship points left, move to the right and the ship points accordingly. in this new ship, the falcon sentinal, when i move the mouse left and right the ship rolls left and right. i already have rolling assigned to Q and E, so not sure why its rolling out of control, i cant even dock its impossible. does this ship just steer like that, or did i push a random key and change the control type?

Isn't it a matter of navigation assistance turned on/off? (with ctrl + space), maybe the related software is missing?

tried on and off, still wont steer just rolls, im beginning to think this ship just controls differently than the other 2 ive flown

I got one and didn't have flying issues. bug maybe?

you chose combat thrusters.

Combat thrusters are what makes this happen. Swap to the all rounders and it wont.

In settings toggle axis steering. Really.

Haven't tried if its the ship itself or the combat thrusters. I had this issue once when i installed combat thrusters. Absolutly useless. Doesn't seem like anybody tested this...

i dont think i has anything to do with combat thrusters. all'round, combat and travel just changes stats. i've tried them all.
giving optimal performance in specifik situations.

there's even a difference in regards to what race you by it from. like paranid thrusters are better than teladi thrusters.

i outfitted my falcon with paranid all'round after flying a loong time on teladi combat.

there was no difference in how i controlled the ship, but the thruster stats was better... and it was cheaper

That's just the lot of most fighters. The Falcon has the same responsivness stat as most others.

"Responsivness stat?" Oh, that's like. the ONE thing the Encylopedia lists that nowhere else does.

Your Elite Vanguard the argon starts with has 5.point response. Guess that's why it's an "Interceptor", as scouts get 3. and most fighters/heavy fighters get between 1.5 and 2.1 yet higher engine speeds.

This is also the secret "It's not complete ♥♥♥♥!... It's just 80% ♥♥♥♥, 20% player gimmick!" of the Quasar.

It's a 4 "Heavy fighter" made out of balsa wood. It's also got a response stat just under the Kestrel scout.

So it basically exists for "Hey, wouldn't it be funny to have 4 plasma guns AND not want to die trying to aim them at other fighters?" gimmicks.

...Oh, right.

Also the MAIN reason the Falcon exists, is that it's one of the fastest things you can get (4.5k travel engine speed) that has both-
A: More than 1 gun.
B: TWO shield generators, AND good hull.

Parnid cheaper fighter is 2 guns and faster, but that's still 1 shield generator.

Falcon's got 1.7 response stat. Those fancy paranid fighters have 1.8. But you're engines are so fast you don't care.

It's quite the jump if it's your second ship after the Elite though.

EDIT: As for racial components. They are great for customization. But Hulls are what matter most.

A ship with two paranid shield generators will beat out a ship with one teladi shield generator. At the very least for fighters and traders. The difference may be more distinct for M combat ships and up.

When do ships ROLL when do they steer left / right?

You can choose what you prefer: Either you map always "left right" (aka yaw=primary steering) or always "roll" (=secondary steering) to your controller or mouse, OR you have a game option called "adaptive steering" which looks at the current ship maneuverability and maps whichever of these two axis is faster. That can however be a bit confusing when teleporting from the one type to the other, that's why this option is turned off by default in input settings. (Mouse controls can only be changed between primary steering, which is default, OR adaptive steering).
