It's cheap, and when you're through it, then X4 will probably be in a better state than now.
Yeah I get it, just thought it was worthwhile to point it out since people drop that claim at every corner.

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is a spiritual successor to Wing Commander Privateer in every way.
It's 5 years in active development now and still has no gameplay. You can fly around in your overdetailed ship, land on an empty planet, do a couple of placeholder missions and watch everything glitching and breaking around you. 100% details, 0% content and I don't think that's a professional way to develop a game, so I would be careful if you want to spend money on that.
I'm enjoying X4 and yes, it has bugs and yes, some of them are gamebreaking, but if you manual save on different slots regulary before something breaks, then you can save your playthrough pretty easy. Also this game is way easier to understand, than X3. I tried to get into X3 for years but gave up a couple of hours later. Now, with a couple of tips and a beginners guide + ingame tutorials, I got into X4 fairly easy and it's a ton of fun and I might use that, to fianlly get into the other X games, too.
By all accounts that is a pretty decent X series SP alternative, been looking at it myself.
Its on sale also for cost of a Curry lol
LOL
:<
But I don't really consider Warlords an alternative. Sure it's fun, but it's a bit shallow, has almost no economy going on and the lategame is just endless grind.
Eh its bad. I tried it. Combat is just so horrible and badly controled. Not to mention Ai can just 1ko your ship with sniper ships.
And it takes forever to build anything.
+ that stupid radiation mehanic
I liked the previous entry in their series but have to agree Warlords was a disappointment
If you go around looking for reasons to hate on something, you will find them, the honest truth with x4 is the game is mostly stable and fun for those with mid to high end systems. It needs optimization and bug fixing, but there is plenty to do in the game and it easliy is the best space game I have played since x3 tc and ap. Egosoft has a good track record of keeping up on their games even if not perfect from the get go.
If you are looking for a very polished experience, elite dangerous is probably the best choice right now, idk about star citizen, the game looks like a scam to me, I have just stayed away.
x4 is still a good choice now if you have the space game itch, but it is not polished and you will run into bugs, but it has rewarding and fun gameplay. Many people are overly bitter about x rebirth and are trying to hurt this game.
I bought rebirth too and think it is silly to hate on this game because you were not happy with the last game. Egosoft listened and gave the fans what they asked for, and I have full confidence that they are going to fix it up and add more good stuff soon.
