Scout ship AI
Has anyone had experience actually getting an AI ship dropping resource beacons for miners if he's set to "exploring" or "patrol"

Feel like it's a total waste of creds to build and crew another scout if he doesn't that for me.

No but I have one scout who loves to take off in one direction and grow a map. Well he just got away from my attention for a bit and now he's grown Grand Exchange like 25 times bigger than it already was.

AI miners do not use resource probes. No AI of ours uses consumables of any kind from what I can telll. I have heard that the L miners use the mining drones that you buy for them.

Well that's dumb. Hopefully they add that.

Youve posted this screenshot a second time now and I still don't see or understand what you're trying to tell us.
I'm interested though? What do you mean?

No I posted a different one when he did it last time and I had to reload. That's why there is a partial path next to that one. The internal map tiles grow procedurally as one of your ships travel beyond the edge. Every once in a while a scout for some reason decides to travel in long straight lines, expanding the map outward massively. Look at the fog pattern and the internal hex cells that make up the maps and compare the Grand Exchange I map with the other two. Each one of those map tiles is a huge map of its own. They only start small until you expand them.

sectors are instanced but infinite as far as i can tell. , you cant just aim at something a hexagon away and fly there you have to use a gate or highway which basically acts as a sneaky loading screen. Since that scout is just flyinf in space in one direction, he expanding the map of that hexagon. which is why the part of it with stations looks WAY smaller than the other hexagons.

Yeah I've been growing my sectors slowly but the scouts like to take off and rage my ocd. Things do spawn out there though. I've found abandoned ships to claim, npcs fighting or setting up stations and already built stations. Don't know about the instanced part though. I go through jump gates instantly and maintain my speed from one side to the other.
