A Warp Gate just broke my game.

I took a warp gate out of Eighteen Billion and instead of taking me to Grand Exchange IV like it should, it dumped me outside of all of the sector map into a completely empty area with no gates, no anomalies, nothing. I can't seem to find a way back since I don't have jump drives unlocked yet, so it's effectively ruined this run.

There is usually an autosave function.
This is a rare bug that is hard to reproduce, but it seems there will be fixes to situations like this in 3.0

Well I am playing the 3.0 Beta 2, so that's not exactly promising.

can you abandon the ship and teleport back to your HQ or another ship? I can only surmize if you only have 1 ship in an empire building game your not that far along and a restart wont hurt you.

I have 2 ships and a restart is still losing 12 hours of progress on that save.

I do have an autosave thankfully back only half an hour, but that's still pretty frustrating that a warp gate can just randomly spit you out in the middle of absolutely nowhere with no way to even get back in bounds of the map.

I feel you! every hour is a drop in the bucket. Imagine if you will the horror of a stalled economey after 300 or more drops in the bucket. . . I still wonder if they fixed that issue so many months ago.

Yeah I'm waiting to see if that's still a thing, I haven't seen anything about it in any of the patch notes.

I didn't even know the warp gate glitch was a "known problem".

Still, it's beta, post a bugreport, this why you should play betas, it's not some kind of early access to new version of the game, bug a thing to test.

Funny, it just happened again while I was checking this thread.

Edit: Thrice after I made this post.

Second edit: Okay, I've managed to repeat this bug 3 times on the same warp gate.

Third edit: 4 times, even after rebooting the game.

If you want to get your ship back, check the ship's info on what sector it says it's in. put a fly to marker into the middle of it and let it fly there, will take some time, also though, it will expand the borders a crazy amount in that sector. I recommend you make a backup of that save in case the devs want to take a look at it, after that I think the best option would just select it and right click any warf and sell it so you don't have to deal with the eye sore of the extended borders in a sector.

the requirements to post a bug report arnt really easy like sometimes things happen and you didnt really do anything diffrent so explaining what you were doing at the time of the bug is really hard
i flew through gate at 18billion ended up in empty space <<< not exactly something you can re create

No, but if there's somewhere I can post my save file, I can give specific instructions on recreating the bug every time on my end.

I mean all I have to do is give my pilot an order to go to Ianamus Zura IV from his current location in the save file. It causes the bug every. single. time. he enters the warp gate.
