Just sick and tired of hearing the same old SH*T over, and over, and over, and over, and over again...

Stop well be scanning your cargo...
we found contraband
eject the contraband emmediately...

Say goodbye to your plasma vents

I think what the OP is after is for ONLY your own guys bothering you, which I fully agree with. I spend a lot of time sitting in stations, especially mid game as im overseeing station construction, jumping around getting blueprints, etc. Id love to be able to know that if I hear comms traffic about an attack, or customs scan, etc that its actually directed at me and not at some random NPC that I dont give a rats rear end about.

They need a volume slider just for non-direct radio chatter. It does add ambience, but when close to the same volume level it can be distracting. Some are louder making you think it's directed at you, but it's not.

The issue with this is that I'm assuming most players WANT to be notified of their ships running into trouble - god knows how much it pisses me off that I'm never told my ships are under attack (the only proper warnings I get are "pirates told me to drop cargo" and "police are scanning me"), and I have no way of knowing until I check the map and realise a bunch of ships are missing, AFTER 30 corvettes have single-file marched to their suicide at the hands of a "friendly" capital ship.

On the other hand, when you've got 50 autotraders and 30 autominers out there each with 2 or 3 escort ships, and you're getting "awaiting orders" messages from EVERY SINGLE ESCORT SHIP IN THE GAME after LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE MOVE THEY MAKE for absolutely no reason whatsoever - they automatically receive their orders from the trader/miner they're escorting once they've finished their trade/mining and begin moving onto the next task - that does start to grate on your nerves, just a teensy bit.

They need a real comm interface with different channels for different things:

1. Police comms if you have a police license for that faction. Lets you hear notices about criminals that need aprehended.
2. General traffic. Other ships being attacked by pirates or attacking each other. In case you want to hunt pirates or help allies.
3. Your ships trade orders
4. Your ships war reports.
5. Allied war reports

So you can activate as many or few as you want to hear.

One other thing I especially loathe with a passion is how ships will not undock if they land on a ahip or station your character is on without telling them to P*I*S*S OFF... errr... umm... "proceed with current orders"... this is especially irritating when it's an auto miner or auto trader, or combat ship with standing orders to mine trade or protect.

I hate hearing...." I'll wait until you tell me to take off."

And later in the gam when you have 10s or even hundreds of auto-whatever-ships, it gets really f'n annoying!

Not a bad idea

I suppose it would be like changing frequencies and channels on radios in real life. You`d think advanced ships would have the ability to allow that. But it would be a lot of work if the sounds aren`t already on their own channels, which I`ll bet they`re not.

There are no channels at he moment so everything comes across as if they were on the same channel; kind of a sector comms channel. It wouldn't take a huge amount of effort but its not something they should concentrate on right now. Bugs then features. But I hope it makes it into the game at some point.

There is a mod on nexus to address this so hopefully it is something the devs will implement into the core game.

There is also a mod on nexus to quiet a lot of your own guys voice chatter like, "awaitng orders".

Again, the devs need to see what mods are squashing bugs and adding features then incorporate them into the game for non mod using folks.
