what exactly are you having trouble with?
the map being 3d (and not having a 2d option) is complicating well.... everything, I also cant seem to keep the map rotation saved either. Its nice to have thoughs things but because of the map (which i would so rather not deal with to the point of flying blind). If there was a 2d top down option for general nav, It would make things easier to keep track of. Not to mention nothing is where i would think it would be as far as UI (very unintitive design). I am trying i really am, I dont know how to program... But I think i Might have to. In order to fix UI and Map, the world is fine the controls are fine, everything is great with this game but the UI and Map really really stinks.
With the UI I would figure that the what could do would be not only catagorized but sysonomisly so... With this game I find myself constantly asking myself where is the opsite location of said function or what i want to do. This isnt my first x game, my first one was x3 tc ([unfortantly no longer playable as Collision Detection is basically gone I know seperate issue] I find that one far easier to deal with (UI wise and function wise, also rather fond of it due to xml scripts toying round with that, kinda learned to read some of the stuff people made).
Nothing about the UI or Map makes much sense.
I even started scrounging youtube for tutorals but so far havent found a usefull one. I suppose I just dont understand the logic/reasoning methodology for there UI. Im usually pretty good with such things. I get it some games just require research in order to play but x really hasnt been one of thoughs unless your doing more advance stuff. But im struggling with basic functions of UI and Map. I think this is my first UI and Map usage consern for any game.
Its almost as if someone set out to say, "hey how random can we make this?"
Im sorry if this sound harsh, I dont mean it too but its the truth as i know it.
I think we need a map mode accessible with a hot key that blows the current focused sector to fill the screen badly
It's a shame the map isn't persistent in the sense it remembers the zoom of it when I re-open it, I'm always having to zoom back out.
Personally, besides the station scanning crap, the map is my least favorite "new" feature. I actually miss the X3AP menus...
