It’s how the economy works.

Yes, if you have scanned the station thoroughly then select & right-click on it in the map & chose information ... once that menu opens expand the storage field to see what the station has & what it needs.
However, the other shipyards to not receive hull or engine parts unless I explicitly send manual traders to them. This indicates the problems is not the same bug as the Pre 1.50 issue (full station while missing one resource), now it just seems the NPC stations are just not receiving any hull parts from NPC traders.
I noticed after a VERY long wait- (literally 27 hours into my current save), Teladi finally had enough hull parts. But then it poppped out some NPC construction ship, and then spent a very long time waiting for more hull parts.
This indicates, to me, that the stations are FIXED in 1.50, but rather the NPC traders are just not delivering, or maybe the buy-order prices are not high enough to give shipyards priority over other stations, or worse - not enough NPC stations exist to keep up with the demand. Either way, this resource is simply not reaching those stations.
In my save, MIN shipyards are getting resources more often than TEL shipyards.
I think the economy just needs more player input than most people are aware of.
This way you moves the economy and get some credits while your ship is under construction.
Note: I do not recommend Autotrade because it can sell to another station that requires the same resouce and is paying a litte more.
I agree with you ... some more players input will helps the whole economy.
This guy the OP could of had a massive Xenon incision that caused the loss of many trade ships and stations, causing a massive downfall to economy, until it recovers.
The devs have made one of the most complicated economies I have ever seen in a single player game. It’s great and also a curse. Because nobody really understands what to expect.
People come on these forums and ask this same question over and over. And it’s so, and you tell them how it works, and we can’t really compare what’s going on in our game and their game . so many different things could of happened to make it so different.
This guy might just have a low supply of Hulls in his game. It’s hard to explain to people that they need to find out what is missing and, build, fix, and make the credits.
Than again he also might of found that rare bug that, we all have not seen yet. Who knows.
Without trying to sound too snarky, if I didnt know building ships took resources then I wouldnt be asking how to find the resources it needs to get my ship built.
This was the method i discovered accidently, worked for me perfectly!
It’s alright, glad the other guy helped you out, and you figured it out.
