Long range scanner mk1 vs 2
If i put it on a npc ship, will it map a wider area

Long range scanner does not affect a ships radar range. It only affects the distance that it will pick up stuff in Long Range Scanner mode when you fire that horn. Though for some reason (laziness? stupidity?) every single ship in the game has a 40km radar range. DAFUQ.

The best part of crazy space games is new tools to find things with and at this point all we have is a single LR with a single upgrade line and station sniffing.

The type and frequency of signals its age and its tech level should all have diferent requrments ship types and slot type.... Mehh
