Otherwise try finding the few engine part factories, shipyards, wharfs and then buy a couple of traders on autotrade limited to engine parts only.
It's an issue we're scratching our brains about right now, but can say that 3 engine part factories will be just enough to slowly bring back 1 faction from a grinding hault back to life, though it's like watching paint dry lol
I found there is no engine related blueprint in the representative's office. For autotrade, how could I do the autotrade with selected buyer and seller?

In my game the shipyard and wharfs still had storage room but it all failed cause of the traders doing nothing usefull and get stuck with full cargo's.
I am really curious to see the patch notes about this issue and if they snuck a trader fix along with it lol
Is the "real" economy meant to limit the number of ships able to be fielded by each faction? There is alot to this and i wish them luck.
My guess is that they ran simulations and that the amount of ships would be enough for the npc economy and if not, they'd build a few more.
But if traders get stuck unable to deliver, then everything in the chain dies.
This is where with this bug we could actually fix it by supplying where the ai fails, most it's engine parts but I also see a great shortage of smart chips as I think those ships might have gotten stuck.
Also 1 wharf is struggling with advanced electronics and some scanning arrays so a full cascade down the chain.
I started a new game without mods so in the future I can give it to the devs when it breaks again, hence me seeing the same thing happening from the start once more and makes me even more determined to think that the root cause of the problem is the trader logic, full storage just a side effect from that.
We'll see, looking forward to the patch >:)
I'd like to know which patch this is because it is not fixed in 1.5. It is even worse in the game I started last night now. My trader takes 20 minutes to dock to do a transaction. It flies around the station at least twice in slow gear. AI traders are sitting around outside stations. Warfs, Shipyards and Equipment Docks are all screaming for parts.
X4's trade AI is bad. Probably partly due to it's bad pathing for starters.
I am new to the X games. This game has so much potential but it's failing hard right now for me. It's a struggle to keep things going without having to spend hours just to fix the background economy first.
Still waiting to see.
I confirm that there is now 6 ships built live. So 2 of 8 are done. 6 to go. Got to sell 1200ish engine part each time.
The number of ship as gone up now tho. I guess there is a "hidden" building list ??!
