The Xenon are WEAK!
Hello.

I would like to discuss something important. What's with the design on those Xenon ships. The design of the Xenon K and Xenon P is extremely uggly. The Xenon K looks like an old shrimp that's about to die and the Xenon P looks like a coockroach. There are also flaws in their designs, killing a Xenon K is far to easy when comparing on how hard it was in X Beyond The Frontier.

Please change them to their old chip like design. Back in the old days a Xenon Destroyer could go 600 m/s and would chase you down untill it would kill you with its weapons or until it would ram you to death. I already remember how i used to go through Xenon sectors in SETA and die halfway when i was looking away by the hands of a Xenon Destroyer. They also had a very nice design and their only blindspot i can think about was at their back. When i had to go through Xenon sectors i had to constantly look around for incoming threats, aka Xenon Armada that's nowhere to be found in the current Xenon sectors.

I also miss the old Xenon N, Xenon M and Xenon L ships. Especially the Xenon L. Have you ever chased a Xenon L and before you could destroy it, the Xenon L would suddendly turn around and hit you with its wing, ending your life. That's how i learned to fear the Xenon L. I died that way numerous times. The ship design of the Xenon N and Xenon M aren't bad but I personally think that you should stick oldschool and make HD versions of those ships.

The Xenon ships should be the strongest and toughest ships around yet i can equip my Nova Vanguard with plasma cannons and go into Xenon teritorry and destroy a Xenon K like stealing candy from a baby plus the Xenon K wasnt alone. It was escorted by a P and numerous N's and M's. I didnt even bother with them, i just flew around the Xenon K in close proximity while shooting it with my plasma cannons. I didnt bother with the small fish because 90% of the time they would miss and hit the Xenon K.

I would very much loved to see HD versions of the oldschool Xenon L and Xenon K. Please update it or make it a DLC or somebody make a mod for it. The current Xenons seem extremely weak.

All hail Family Rhonkar!

Xenon capital weaponry seems extremely underpowered. Made a post in the official forums about watching a K fail to kill a lone construction vessel over the course of an hour. It was seriously taking 10 seconds of continuous weapons fire from multiple L turrets to drop the CV's shields 1%.

While I don't mind player fighters being viable long term, I wonder if the issue has to do with how turrets are screwed?

Though it's even harder to say in the case of Xenon (and HARD KHAAK), because the encyclopedia doesn't list weapon mounts. Not even for ships you own. (It also does not list ship capacity for carriers, huuuuuur).

So as players it's hard to tell if most xenon even HAVE turrets.

i killed a xenon k the first time i saw one with my scout ship , when u get close to one it pulls u with it so all u have to do is land on its back where its guns cant hit u and u will kill it. 2 beam emiters mk2 all it took,, and like 20-30 minutes lol. id recommend getting a pulsar with 6 guns if u killem this way.

Its a bunch of things but by mid game (8-10h) players have progressed to the point they totally outgun Xenon or Khaak in 1 on 1 or even 2-3 on 1.

The lower tiered Xenon and Khaak ships are fine but the middle an upper tiers need tweaking. To me the upper tiers should have utterly awesome firepower.

That or those two should vastly outnumber player and empire factions, one or the other.

Right now the only way the Xenon have killed me is with thousands of mines in their own sectors.

better turret AI and accuracy/ better coverage would go a long way.

It is the same model as in XR. The turrets should be in the same places.

XR? You mean X:Rebirth? If so, why is Egosoft lifting and droping a rock on their foot?

"I wasn't interested in—and X: Rebirth, which arrived in 2013, was a straight-up disaster—enough to earn it a spot in our "Worst Launches in PC Gaming History" list. "

So XR was a disaster and they still add those godawful ugly ships in the game??? What is Egosoft thinking?

Probably that the ship models don't change much. It is called consistency. It doesn't mean that if you used a model in a not so good game that if you put that model or something close to it in the good game it makes the good game suck.

What kind of insane logic are you using here? Wow. Overreact much?

And I didn't say it was the exact model as in the file they used in XR. It has the same appeareance so, ya know, reason would say the turrets just maybe, just might, be in the same spots.

Yeah I did overreact a little too much but the new ships have some flaws. I haven't played XR so im not used to seeing those ships and i dont like them. Il just wait for a mod or something to come out to repplace them.

Them missing you so much is a bug. They are not meant to be missing as much as they are. With 5 fighters shooting at you, you are meant to be taking a ton of hits all the time.

Idk, when I went to the Xenon sectors they were being guarded by fleets consisting of an I, several K, 10s of M/N and Ps. The single Corvette I have so far isn't much of a match for that.

I used the tactic an experienced pilot used in the Orville series called "Hugging the donkey.".

The Nemesis Vanguard is to big of a target. you cant strafe/roll to evade properly.

Or you just exploited the way that turret and gun rotation control logic is undershooting the predictive target and so they just cannot hit you if you are moving in a S ship, no matter how hard they try.

For now I recommend using a M ship as it proves a much larger target so compensates for turret and gun rotation undershoot.

What is meant to happen is that if you are in a S ship laser turrets never miss you. That is why laser turrets cost the most of all turrets because they are meant to eat S ships like they are nothing but are too weak to pose a threat to M ships.
