What Differences have you spotted so far between different Ship Variants?
I just got a message from Antigone to Join their Faction.
So I tought. Why not. Trading Guild always a Good Choice.

In their System I then noticed they got their own Shipyard.
And they got different Variants of the Argon Ships.

Most Notable I found the Difference between Pulsar Vanguard and Pulsar Defender.
Because the Pulsar Defender has 6 Frontal Weapon Slots. While the Vanguard only has 4 Frontal Weapon Slots.

Its also looking quite Different.

Have you found other Variants so far ?
What about other Factions Ship Variants :)

I found the Paranid shipyard and they have much different looking ships. I have not bought any of them yet. Still working Argon space to get my base of operations.

the teladi traders hold more goods iirc.

Paranids have the fastest ships avaliable.

Teladi have strong hull and access to the best shield, they also have the largest cargo holds in most instances. They are however, rather slow for their class usually.

Argon ships seem to be balanced and have no particularly speciality. Really it only feels like the Teladi are truly unique, Paranids are just fast, Argons are nothign in particular while Teladi ships excel in multiple areas but suck in some others.

The Argon sentinel and vanguard variants trade off several stats, with sentinel being considerably more durable and the vanguard ones more maneuverable. Haven't looked at other factions too much yet.

Sentinel/Vanguard is really just different speed,h ull and cargo capacity (and crew cap) within the same ship class; it barely makes a difference.

I disagree. The cerberus variants change by over 5k hull. Add a decent mod to that and thats quite a bit of damage absorption. It's even more noticeable in bigger ships. The colossus variants are 216k and 259k.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the different fighters. Both factions have their own but I like the Republic's Pulsar model cuz it has 6 guns.

Yeah, the times variant factions sell a ship type the other guys don't even HAVE seems to be the bigger deal to watch out for.

ARG sells the Quasar Vanguard and Eclips Vanguard, a pair of "heavy fighters" with 4 weapons.. While I've yet to see those sold by the ANT.

Meanwhile, ANT sells the above mentioned Pulsar with it's mother ****ing SIX weapon mounts.

It's superior in all ways to the Quasar Vanguard. (Pulsar's "1,900 hull? That's only 100 more than the Elite I started with!" looks a lot better compared to 1,700 hull on a heavy fighter) Unless you'd hate yourself for having 150 cargo space instead of 190.

But, the ANT Wharf I've found does not have a bulky heavy fighter. While the ARG Eclipse for sale may seem a bit sluggush (Great combat speeds, but low for a fighter travel speeds) , and have "only" 4 guns. It's still got 4k hull, and TWO shields teladi style.

I wonder it the HAT sells the 'missing' ship variants of ARG and ANT? When it comes to the Argon at least.
