how do you give orders to pilots.

Captured a ship. brought it to a station put crew in it. flew back to my ship and transfered over. The only thing i can see to do is tell the pilot to join my wing . I told him to attck my target but he does nothing. I dont see any way to give commands like dock at a station. How is this suppose to work ?

Does the ship even have guns? Is a Captain assigned? It may take time to get in range. Make sure it gets moving. Sometimes there is a futher step of having to clear previous orders then ordering attack and then confirming the order. If all else fails you will have to do it live.

To give commands you use the map. Click the ship you want to give an order to, right click a location/target/station or whatever, a list will pop up.
If a ship is in your squad you can use the popup F/Right click commands too, any ship in your squad will follow the same order.

The command system is RTS styled.

Left click the ship as you would an RTS unit. Right click a destination as if sending it there to die, and it'll give you a context-sensitive popup menu. The orders are hiding there.

there is a gun
there is a pilot is that different then a captain ?
