Supprised at no character creation.
I mean if im gona play a space game i kinda wana make my own pilot.

Never has been a part of the X-games. Not saying that means they couldn't include it in this version, but the fact that you're surprised about it hints that you haven't played the previous games before.

Either way, you don't really see your character anyway, would it really have added value to you?

Yeah it hasn't been part of the series but I think it would be a nice addition. It would def add value for me

You can change your logo on your ship and a custom one. You can change the name of yourself / pilot. You can add an avatar / logo to the game / ship. But that is all. As SIGILL commented, there never has been a physical character in this series. Although it does "feel" that way now than ever, with walking in stations. It is what it is.

Customising a character that you never get to see at all it kind of total waste of resources.

X games have never been about a single character for me... It was always about building and running an empire, and who I started with made little to no difference... A nameless pilot in my empire to be, the pawns I put to work to glorify me...

This doesn't work tho because at the start you have one of three NAMED PILOTS and they have a voice so that whole no name/voice character doesn't work here.

Yeah one of the reasons I am debating refunding.. I think the idea of no character creation and not seeing your toon is a major oversight.

to each their own but you would be missing out on a fantastic game over something so trivial. there are plenty of subordinates to get attached to if that is your thing.

LOL I have no sympathy, I have had to wait 10+ years just to have an actual paranid start with a Paranid pilot name!

You can see your toon some what limited though!

I was surprised by this as well. Yeah, new to the x games, but I had the impression that char creation was nearly as default as being able to choose screen resolution. Like no choice of race or gender or anything like that. Feels like you're just a floating camera. How many races in the game? Are you even one of them? kinda leaves ya blank.

to me its kinda weird to have a game where you can leave your ship and walk around yet no real indentity.
