How to pickup lockboxes ?

Hi,
I got a mission to locate and retrieve some lockboxes. So I found them but I am unable to load them on a ship. I tried with my S fighter ship as well as with my M trading ship by holding "O" near them like with other floating cargo but it does nothing. Any ideas what to do with them pls ?

You mean a Securecontainer?

You cant load the whole Container itself, u see somewhere at this container red lights with a "Lock" Symbol, you must hit them with your Laser etc. but carefully to much damage destroy the container. After you destroy all locks, the container will open and drop the cargo

I think, specifically, you need to use a suit lazer to destroy each of the locks.

If you have swivel round guns you aim with the dot and not the cursor. I was ages wondering why I always blew the darn things up.

I set global orders to open lockboxes. I wish there was an equivalent for data vaults.

If you get an NPC co-pilot for your ship (you should), he can usually shoot off the locks and do it for you. Sometimes he fails.

But take care. Some Lockboxes have explosives. You may need to personally get out and shoot off the locks. Hitting the explosives can ruin your day.
