How do I interact with my hired crewman?

I hired one and all she did was go to the ship. I see her name on the list but I can't do anything with her. What do crewmen do anyway?

It doesn't seem like non-captain, non-manager employees do anything. You can hire either Service Crewmen, or Marines, but there's no explaination of what 'Service Crew' actually does.

There's a lot of missing info like that--the encyclopedia is a pretty sad affair. I hope they improve it at some point.

Service crew repair hull damage and also repel intruders and make tasks more efficent

Marines basically board and capture ships and try to take them over

You interact with them threw ship info and ship behavior there should be crew sections for each. If you have captain/pilot you can right click on ship in properties and comm them.

I think he believes how to interact with the non-captain crew so he can reassign them to another ship. As I am also trying to figure out a good and easy way to do that as currently I just promote them to captain then reassign them to the new ship through coms and the last on to captain will be sold with the ship.

Unlike the captain, I can't see the rest of the crew or do much of anything with them. Hopeing that this will change. But thanks fow telling me about this.
