Is this similar to star citizen and how is the combat?

X4 is an actual game not a ship buying simulator, it lacks the same production value gained from all the SC whales and as such lacks some of the gorgeous refined gameplay elements and graphics though I think it looks really good. Combat is what you would expect in a space sim.

No. Not anything like it.

Only common theme is Space, and ships.

It's not like Star Citizen. X4 actually released.

Nope. Despite some of my discomforts with X4, Star Citizen is even worse. But don't take my word for it. I like Star Citizen for the details and everything, but I personally feel robbed. I spent like 105 dollars for freelancer ship and the game runs like garbage, development is slow as hell. All they do is blow money that I paid on CitizenCons and kowtowing to VIPs, it's so sad.

But anyways... X4 is a very niche game. Combat is awesome, everything in space is awesome. Trading, economy and everything is very detailed and literally alive. But walking around stations is very dull compared to star citizen and most other games in today's standards. There is no pilot to pilot combat either I don't think.

This game is more of a sim-game than anything else. But it's super user-friendly.

Being a space sim game, the economy, ships and things you can do like exploration are all very detailed and the universe is alive. All NPC ships actually do things like carrying goods. You can even build your own station and build your own "empire", make a lot of money that way.

Star Citizen don't even have such a system fleshed out and half finished.

Also a better question is Egosoft vs Cloud Imperium Games. Egosoft's track record is like a credit score of Excellent. There are debts, but they always pay it off. Highly reliable company. They listen to community feedbacks and give you free updates and features. They are amazing.

Whereas Cloud Imperium does not, and have their own agendas or "visions" given to them by the VIP members who donated thousands of dollars (they are the priority apparently). They at first claimed that they'll listen to the community but that's almost impossible when millions of people are demanding this and that. They themselves know that's too far fetched.

You got off lucky with 104 dollars spent. I spent 6000 over a five year period and feel like a complete idiot. I tried two different times to get my money back but of course it failed. I have talked to others that have spent over ten thousand. I am like, "what were we thinking?" Why did we think it was ok to spent 400 dollars on virtual ships that dont even work yet?

Of course I am still rooting for SC, lol I pretty much have to right? If it does work out, I got a small armada of ships to mess with. If it does not, yea, Im just an idiot.

Are you being serios..? Did you really spend that much money... whhhaat... The sad thing is that you have an armada of ships. But all your 6000 dollars bought you was Salvage insurance for a free replacment.

everyone else will still be able to buy those ships in game with in game money... Ouch.

OP: This definitely isn't Star Citizen. This is a full universe/trading/fighting/building/exploring game. Star Citizen isn't even a game... yet (ever if it keeps going as it is).

Well at least we have something to play :/
I just wish people had the sense to invest, or EgoSoft would chnage to similar revenue source, in X Series. It would then beat SC hands down!

Hell no!!! Do not mention that rubbish in the same breath with a bona fide video game of the stature of the X-Series.

I don't know much about SC other than it hasn't released yet. But the X series games are slow paced. Buy this, sell that, fight a bit and keep moving on. SC is kinda like going to a strip club, yeah it's fun to look at, but you don't have anything to show for it.
