Unlocking station parts

So you have to scan station pieces to unlock them for future use, how exactly do I do this?
Seems kinda random

Or just buy the plans from a Rep on the station.

Unlocked some, but not sure how I'm actually scanning them lol

Always an option.
I'd still like a better understanding of how to scan them for unlocking.

Not sure if its proximity based when it shows info being collected or time based.

i think its RNG when you are in scan mode (shift 2) fly close to station modules. I usually start at one end of a station and skim as close to it as possible the RNG is when you hear the radio crakles then you hunt that point down and decode the data leak. seems like mostlu missions, some inside trade data and Blueprints.

Sounds like youre talking about the data scanning things.

Is that the same as gathering the info on station parts?

Any way to get building sections? As in, what the Wharfs use to produce ships? O'd much rather produce my own ships than giving money to some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Teladi.
