How to hire a builder?
People say to find a constuctor ship and click on it and you can hire it

I don't see an option for this when I click a constructor ship. I'd there something else I need to do?

It is a constructor ship I am looking for right?

Once you find the ship, open map, right click on your station, edit the plans, click hire builder, and find the ship, on the left hand side in menu right click on the ship and click hire its 40k credits.

Ok, I see the constructor I found in the sectors but it says it is busy. I assume I need to find a constructor in the sector I want to build in right?

Can I bring one in from another sector? How long do constructors stay busy?

Yes, you can hire one from any sector, they will stay busy for the job they are hired for then move on

Ok, I have a construction ship hired. Do I need to build a storage facility on the station first, so I can store the mats I need to build it?

(This is for the unknown space station mission to build a dock on it)

You can buy your own builder too at faction shipyards. It's a large and costs 13+m though.

Nope you just deposit 300k into the station and they station the auto buy the materials to build the dock and the builder will auto build it once the station gets all the mats

You need to right click the station and click plan build then you will select what to build and there is a button on the right to hire a builder for the changes you planned. When you click that you will go to the map to *select* the builder and you need to find one on the map, near one of your satellites (so you can see it).

when you have satelites everywhere its easy to find ships you need, I built my satelite network before I started building so I could find the closest builder to me straight away :)

In addition to putting satellites near stations to monitor ware prices, it's also helpful to have coverage at gates and accelerators in sectors. This will show you traffic moving in and out of the sectors themselves and you can easily catch available builder ships for rent closer to where you're building.

Not quite sure I understand why one would buy a mammoth for 13m+ when the cost to hire one is only 40k
