how do I get to recruit pilots?

as title says, I am having a hard time finding anyone willing to pilot a ship? Any tips/help with this?

took me a long time to understand that as well..
1) dock at station where you have "Upgrade/Repair docked ships" option in the "Dock interactions" menu. For example, "ARG Argon equipment dock".
2) In the Upgrade menu select "Crew" button and hire a marine. Close the Upgrade menu.
3) Go to the map, press "Property owned" button, then right click on your ship(docked at this station) and select "Information".
4) In the Ship information expand the "Full Crew List" Group, expand "Marines", right click on your Marine and select "Promote to pilot"
Now you have a Pilot.
