Digital Seminar?
Can they be used to train crew members? They're supposed to be gift (at least they have a gift tag in my inventory) but I just can't find a way to use them.

What do you need to craft seminars? Where can you buy them?

They can be bought from traders on stations but someone on the official forums just confirmed to me they are simply vendor items with no practical use.

That's so stupid! So you can't fast-track one of your crewman's skills with these things? What is the point of them then? Feels really misleading.

I hope they eventually add a 'classroom' module for the player HQ or something so you can use them to fast track or upgrade your crewmen... even if it is only 1/3 point increments as that seems to be how they are measured....

I think it was in on X rebirth back then you needed to trade gifts with npc to get one.

Its not fully implemented ingame right now just as a vendor inventory item.

But i have hopes im hoarding them theyre cheap and may work as intended on the future.

At least we get to make mods for X games. This is obviously your first X game "BoOg1". You don't understand how an X game is hand crafted by a small German software company and then given loving goodness from it's modding community.

They are not yet implemented. Later this year they will either be removed, or made functional.

nope.. removing them is not a joke... its a valid option as your crews, captains & managers can gain experience on their own...

but thats only my personal opinion... i do not know anything about seminars.

Ah, okay, I thought it was an statement from Egosoft :)
If the auto-experience mechanism would work, they can remove the seminars... however, as far as I can see, the mechanism doesn't work well (yet). Beside of that, if they remove the seminars, how will you get marines with more than beginner level? Searching them on defense stations (the only place I know where you can find experienced marines) and hiring manually would take too long.
