I am not there yet, but I think that you have to place them first and then click to rotate or click somewhere else to rotate, sorry I am not much help.

I don't think you can, but you can rotate the entire station in 90° with the dice in the upper right corner

I figured it out. you but your module not attached but somewhere random. Afterwards you can select it with left mouse button. If you hold it with left mousebutton now you can move it, if you click with right mouse button you can rotate it. If you like the directin you can slide it to your station and it will snap.

what sucks is you cant rotate vertically :/

rotating modules around freely would be nice, this way a number of the modules can be attached underneath or on the sides.

if the module station construction plan had buttons with free rotation, specific Z, Y and X axis movements and buttons to rotate left or right at right angles, it would be a lot more user friendly.

Oh Boy I was looking long time to find this out. I'm happy I am not the only one :D

Place it and then select with left mouse and longer right klick on it to rotate. :)

Yeah I wonder why the roation on right click isn't there from the first time you select the module from the list though.

And no we don't need free roation on the Z axis, your connectors are not made for that and you got vertical modules for going up and down. And remebmer even with 6 DOF the universe is still aligned to a horizontal plane for easy orientation and mappnig. As a lot of people will just get disorrientated in a fuly 6 DOF universe without any alignment plane.

I'm going to spread the word and quote this in random threads.
Thanks guys, i figured it out fairly quickly
I am wishing though we could rotate across a vertical axis :/

the place and then rotate tactic does not work for 3-Dock T sections, if there's not enough space though...
Kaokiji Dec 26, 2018 @ 10:20am
For the large T docks it's best to place them away from the station, right click rotate it into a more suitable position to enable module sticking, then simply drag and drop it to the connecting module/base extension.

Perhaps because you would put things upside down to the rest of the station. Not good for staff going to work.
