Input problems / Joystick not working / Mouse cursor magically moving
Joystick / Input issues

If you have problems with a joystick make sure you are not using the default joystick profile but one of the other specific ones. The profile is currently broken.

Mouse cursor moves by itself

On some HOTAS systems the mouse cursor may be moving by itself making it hard to fix the incorrect input settings. This is because an axis of an input device is already incorrectly mapped to the emulated mouse cursor. Try changing your HOTAS or Joystick throttle to get it to stand still then change the configuration in settings (especially the device mapping!)

Input mapping info

For details about how to change mappings please try out the joystick / mapping tutoriasl!

HOTAS / Stick / Warthog default profiles

Before configuring yourself we suggest you first load the best matching default profile for your setup. This just requires the devices to be mapped to the same slots in the device mapping for them to work. (see tutorial for more info on that)

If joystick input feels "digital", as if there is not enough deadzone

Please make sure you mapped the axis in the "Steering: Analog" section of the controls settings.
Every axis can be mapped digital OR analog!

Good evening Devs hope you are doing well. First of all, the game is amazing and immersicve, Very ambitious project I like it !

I have a Thrusmaster HOTAS Warthog but I am unable to get the axis reverses. The throttle needs to be up to cut the gaz and down to go forward wich is not right.

The axxis for the joystick are not reversed as well. I have tried everything but unable to reverse the Axis. Any ideas ?

Thanks !!!

Lol never mind !! It is under a sub menu lol. Sorry to have bothered you I was just too excited with the game lol.

I will take one or two hours to set up the controls now :)

Smells like another fiasko for Egosoft on game release already!!! EGO_zav, I've already done your mapping tutorial. My HOTAS is messed up, and I can't fly my ship...!!! Your tutorials are a JOKE. Really. Why don't YOU fix the HOTAS bindings in the first place, instead of asking US to do this and that?????????

On second thoughts, why don't YOU give me my €50 back, since steam won't refund me the money, since (thanks to Egosoft), I've been trying to fly my ship to no avail for more than 2 hours
What HOTAS do you have? Which of the provided profiles did you try?

Thanks for the praise.
Will forward your question to the HOTAS expert here, but did you try out his Warthog default profile?

My HOTAS T16000 doesn't show in the Manage Joysticks options, so the game can't recieve any input aside from KB+M (I tried an xbox controller and it shows and works fine).

Any suggestion? my drivers are up to date and everything looks fine outside the game.

Good evening again devs !

Ok The HOTAS is working fine. The issue I have is the emulation of the mouse ( Left clock, right click, middle button ) using the xbox one controller.

A=Left Mouse
B=Right Mouse
Y=Middle Mouse

When I try to interact with objects, the mouse clicks are working fine and I get the menu, but when using the mouse emulation from your option, nothing is happening.

Any Idea ?

Again, this is not a bad critisism I am doing. You are one of the few developpers who support mouse emulation extensively where we can map our own buttons.

I would like to be able to play this game with my T1600M setup and my mouse works fine till I plug the 2 joysticks in. Then the mouse drifts and I have no control. However it looks like I can setup the joystick controls in the controls setup like elite dangerous, but they won't respond in the game. It appears having the joysticks plugged and then starting the game affects the mouse and makes it drift. unplugging the joysticks in the game sometimes stops the mouse from moving. frustrating, because I don't want to run the game via keyboard and mouse. PS, I tried messing with throttle controls to stop the mouse from moving to no avail.

Whats the deal with randomly changing keybindings. I didnt even change anything in the menu. If i try to change them back through the menu another keybind gets changed with the same command i entered in the menu. There seems to be a problem with "linked" keybinds. This wouldnt be a game breaking bug for me as i can change the keybindings manually in the inputmap file but the problem is i cant change the longrange scanner keybinding. As it is now the longrange scanner has the same command as secondary fire

I set up a three device HOTAS with the game's tutorial and used the Saitek profile, since the throttle is an X52 Pro.

As soon as I undocked I moved forward and slammed into a wall with the throttle set to zero.

Is there a log or anything I can send?

I'm having weird issues in the menu and platform controls, where it feels like the game is using some kind of input from my HOTAS (Saitex X-52 Pro) which is causing slight panning / strafing. If I wiggle the stick, it goes away until I switch back to trying to use mouse + keyboard controls. It's especially an issue in the map.

I /think/, if I could clear the Analog bindings for pan / strafe, so that they're not bound to my HOTAS, it would fix it. But I haven't found a way yet to /clear/ a binding.
I think that your problem will be solved if you go to settings, controls gamepad mode OFF. you are not using a gamepad.

Looks like a bug when you undock - I have the exact behavior even if the throttle is set to zero.

The game is very ambitious and support a lot of devices. We should be easy a little bit with the devs for the first few hours.

Two questions... My HAT switch, even though configured to look around, doesn't work for me. Using T.Flight HOTAS 4. How can I get my HAT switch to work?

Secondly, is there a way to disable mouse steering? It's very annoying, makes my ship fly in circles.

Anyone else having problems with keyboard input? Sometimes my keyboard just stops working in game. I can still tab or win out of the game but ingame the keyboard is not working at all. I can't even pause, save or reload then....

Edit: I'm using keyboard and mouse

Anyone else?
Trying to do the exact same thing and having the exact same issue. No matter how I change the profile I keep turning on the X instead of rotating.

Oh I'm not upset or anything, just reporting bugs.

You can also fix the drifting mouse cursor by clearing the emulated mouse mapping. Start by selecting each emulated axis in the controls menu and pressing delete until they are all showing blank/null entries. Honestly, it was pretty dumb of egosoft to set these by default. They should be shipping with those items set to null.

This ^

I have a Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS HOTAS and going into the controls menu and deleting the settings for the emulated mouse stuff fixed the mouse-drifts-to-the-upper-right-corner-thus-making-it-useless problem.

Egosoft definitely should hotfix this... no excuse for shipping a game with people who have a very popular HOTAS setup have this happening from the firstt second they load up the game.
