Where did you get the 60 number? I'm not sure how anyone could play a game on PC where you have to walk around with a 60 FOV. I would be projectile vomiting all over my monitor in 2 minutes.

Just asking because over at the Egosoft site, people are saying it's 90 FOV. Big difference. But they are still complaining about the FOV, which is odd. I can do fine with 90, but anything less gets awful, quickly. 110 is best for me.

This is really sad for me personally, because I really want to play this. I think I'll give it a try, but if it's 60 degrees FOV, I will be refunding in about 10 minutes after install, if that long.
Well it sure feels like 60fov the actual number is probably slightly higher but its still terrible For example: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1587403370

the screenshot doesnt really do the fov justice. you might want to look up a video on youtube
I believe my FOV is right around 90 - from what I can tell. I seldom go higher than that anyway, personally, because in some games it makes things appear distorted to me, and movement gets awkward and "zoomy" over 100.
Yes Does anyone know a way to change it?
I thought it was 60 as well but the more I play the more I think it is closer to 90. Doesn't bother me too bad so it can't be 60 b/c 60 makes me want to toss my cookies.

Default Skyrim is 55 or so and this looks nothing like that. You can see quite a bit around you and it doesn't feel like tunnel vision. Near the massive ships it gets a little goofy but that is b/c of the scale of the ships, not the FOV.
I fired this up last night and I don't think there is any way this is 60. I'm guessing somewhere between 80-90. I can't play any game that is much lower than 80, even for 5 minutes. That makes me remember Half Life, which is stuck at 70 and no way to fix it, so I was never able to play that game, not even for a few minutes without being sick for hours.

There is a way to change it if the FOV is hardcoded into the executable. Any binary editor can insert values and overwrite values. You just need to look for the value of the FOV you 'think' the game is and see if it exists. Remember it will be in hexadecimal and if it is an IEE 754 float it will be 32-bits or 4 bytes. It will be composed of 4 values. Put the values in a hex calculator like the one in Windows and then reverse the numbers to account for indian-ess.

I did this with Rise of the TombRaider. Its FOV is based on resolution so I just picked a higher resolution with the same aspect ratio. Of course my display won't use the higher res but my game does use the higher FOV. Now I can at least play the game. The FOV is a but dynamic in that game and I still can't play as long as I would like but I think I can at least get through it while enjoying it instead of feeling like I want to throw up.

I'm sure Egosoft could put in a slider if we asked them to. They don't normally lock their games down and they are one of the best companies when it comes to listening to our post-launch suggestions on how to improve their games.

Simulator sickness and FOV's are a HUGE deal in gaming. I wish more studios would understand this. Dying Light went through several iterations and passes to find all motion in the game that would make people ill and tried to correct them and make them more natural. They wanted their players to enjoy the game not feel like they were getting sick. That game had tons of movement, etc but it never made me ill.
