You forgot a comma. Looks like you are saying this is multiplayer exclusively. Which is wrong.
X-Universe games have always been entirely Singleplayer. So you won't be able to fulfill your dream here.
a shame Mr Braben didn't stick to single player either.
According to the Devs the Games System is not working with Multiplayer
A Statement that I would Contest.
But thats how it is.
There is Two Reasons I contest it.
First is because I dont think that you actually need to use the SINZA at all.
All MMOs lately seem to have the Idea that Instant Travel is an absolute Must which cannot be Compromised no matter what.
Thanks to that. Even Open World Games end up being Semi Instanced Maps instead. Because why the Hell would anyone Walk if he can Teleport there.
I really miss the Old Games where a Large Map actually meant you had to walk Ways.
It gave alot of Options like Setup Encounters you would find maybe only the 5th time you walked that Way.
And most of all. It gave you a sense of the World.
Taking Freelancer as Example. If you wanted to go from A to B you actually had to Fly there.
Which took time. It mean being in an Area of the World you actually were there. You could not just be somewhere else in 10 seconds.
Nowdays. In MMOs. The World has completely stopped mattering.
I mean I can be in the Last City of the Game. The Highest Castle. And then I press Teleport. And Bam I am in the Starting City.
The Idea of using a Hub City from where you Teleport to other Areas is pretty much the worst thing I know. Because it takes away the entire World.
You could just as well make a Traditional Level by Level Game with no City at all.
One Reason I like the X-Games was because the X-Universe is an Actual Place.
You could not just Teleport to the other End of the Universe.
At least not till after you basicly Beat the Game and then used Energy Cells.
The Sinza was a Compromise to that.
It Speed up time of everything.
So you were much faster but still had to go there yourself.
But its not a Needed Compromise in my Eyes.
In Opposite.
In Multiplayer Sinza would not work thats true. But I think. It would actually make sense not to have Sinza at all in Multiplayer in the First Place.
It would make the Universe a much much Bigger Place.
And since its Multiplayer. And at least Stations Build by Players would stick around even after the Player goes Offline.
You would actually not need any Speedup at all.
Thus giving the Game a Big Character.
The Second Reason.
Is that I do not actually think in this in Terms of MMO.
With Stations Building and Capital Ship Flying etc etc.
An MMO would be a Mess.
What I do think would be a much better Idea would be the Small Server Design.
with 5-50 Players sharing a World.
A Concept which has been done alot by Sandbox Games.
In General. For me. A CooP Mode Normal Multiplayer would actually Beat an MMO Type Multiplayer.
Because it would be awesome. If I could Play X4 together with 3 or 4 of my Friends.
Each of us basicly Building out own little Power there.
And possibly meeting up to do things.
Multiplayer does not forcibly need to make it an MMO where 1000 players share the same World. :)
When i ask if so and so game is going to get SP they say sorry only MP
So this is our game leave it alone like i am told on the other forums
Why don't you Read the Store Page. It clearly states Single Player Only.
And how do you do that? How do you create co-op in such a complicated and intricate system without spending any resources that could be used for polishing SP? In case you didn't catch up yet - you don't. Doesn't matter if it's 2050 or 5020, this is a fact of nature, a constant. You can have AI's creating games, and it still means one AI works on co-op instead of on single-player for a nanosecond. It's still harming the SP experience.
And we don't have AI's and it wouldn't be a nanosecond.
My vote is to stick with SP. The possibilities for MP disaster are monumental.
