How do I stop other factions using my shipyard?
Basically: How do I turn off my money printing machine? Factions keep throwing money at me. But I want to build my fleet so I don't want them using all my resources.

I've tried ticking "restrict trade to other factions" also I've tried setting a trade blacklist for the station, but the orders keep pouring in.

go into the logical overview of your shipyard and expand one of the ship producing modules.

there you can set that other factions are not allowed to order ships anymore.

already queued ships can be canceled via the Map View when you expand the "Ships in Production" entry and right click onto the Ships to be removed.

Oh my god, thanks. I was looking allover the place for the setting. Don't know why it didn't occur to me to look there.

One other question: Can I speed up the build speed of my shipyard? The computer controlled shipyards can buy destroyers in 7 or 8 minutes, it takes nearly 50 minutes for my shipyard to build one. What controls this? Is it the shipyard dealers skill level or something?

[edit] Oh just realized this is probably builder drones that I need?

Now another question. How do I prevent a specific faction from using my shipyards, while allowing others? Is this future functionality planned?

Don't forget, while there, to set prices to 150%. Factions, with their infinite credits (grrrr) will pay whatever the asking price, and will not decrease their orders whether you set the price high or low. So just set it as high as you can. Don't know why they even have this slider honestly.

Oh damn... I could have made 50% more profit? Damn my shipyard has built like 100 ships already!

Thanks for the info!

And I also wanted to say thanks for being engaged with the community. I think developers underestimate the positive impact that having a game developer regularly interact in the forums can have. Without such interaction, it is much more likely for negativity surrounding games to spread. With it, the players feel much more like their concerns are being listened to and addressed. This goes a long way towards building good will.

I see this is old thread. But I can't find any information anywhere else. Did they change this? Cause I can't find those options anywhere under logical overview. Having the same issues with factions depleting my resources making it where I can't make a fleet from my own shipyard...

Hey Emynock when is this so called "Being worked on" to prevent other factions from using player shipyards to come out cause you mention you could at first, and now you say you cannot.

How about letting us know cause it's been a long time since.

you can set trade rules for your shipyard .. i have a trade rule setup for each faction capable of buying ships

Apologies for reviving this old topic but it's the closest answer I could find to my question.

In short, the above reply no longer seems to apply? Has it been tweaked since? If so, how does it work now?

My problem is, I cannot speed up production in my shipyard (presently just a single L Ship Fabrication Bay) beyond a certain point, regardless of how many more builder drones I add.

Does anyone know what the maximum useful number is for a single L fabrication bay? (And the other sizes, for that matter, if you are aware of any difference).

More build drones will help until a certain amount. Only a certain number of build drones can help with any one ship being built. But more drones is better because if you are building multiple ships at once, those extra build drones can be assigned to the other ships being built.

Thanks, I guess I probably just created too many build drones in one go (I think it was 100 to start) so adding another couple hundred more didn't make any further difference to the production speed of my single fabrication bay. Overkill tends to be a habit of mine... heh. At least they'll be useful as I add more fabrication bays and ramp up overall production.

I suppose 9 mins 40 secs is about as good as it gets for building a single destroyer?
