Have a negative Standing

I have a negative stamding with a couple factions and would like to raise them but the civilian trasns port are all showing neutral, is there any other way to raise them?

For shooting civilians, I think that you should have a police licence to be able to spot the criminals among them, but I'm not very sure.

The other options are
a. You can take out Xenon and Khaak ships (when near stations belonging to the faction of interest) which attack stations or ships (again of the said faction). Check in the Encyclopedia - Factions, to see who is enemy to whom.

b. You can make trades with them

c. The other possibility is to undertake missions for the faction you are interested in.

When you enter a sector, I guess there is a game algorithm, which spawns randomly a couple of missions (or sometimes more) from stations in that sector. If those stations belong to the faction you want, you could execute the missions, thus raising your reputation. You can also fly near stations to "force" spawning of missions, or scan a station to uncover the secrete ones.

Thanks Pulse, the faction in question is at negative 21. Not quite shot on site but darn close. I was fling around a couple stations and found a couple of "spark" missions, did them but didn't see any change in standing. Will have to do more I guess.

You are pretty low in reputation at -21.

Judging from the scales used (post below) I think that every rank needs (at least) double the points compared to the previous.

Trade and Fight ranks

Couldn't find any list with the points required per reputation rank, but I guess the same principle as above is most probably being applied.

Didn't experience such a low reputation myself, but I think that your only option could be
b. You can make trades with them
if your trade ships are allowed to approach the enemy stations without being fired at. Please check.

A hint is given about shooting Xenon ships in station proximity. If you could do that without coming close to the hostile stations, then this could be another option too.

At -10 you can't Dock anymore at Stations and they Dont trade with you... I have this problem with the Min. of Teladi. I had from 1min. to the other -10 Rep. to them. But they dont attack you at this state.

Well I have taken my rep from -21 to +16 just from shooting xenon building drone that where working on a defence platform. Fastest way to get rep from what I can tell.
