Re-Awakening Hotfix Beta
Hello all,

We have just released a beta branch that should fix the Pending Turn with certain Academy Expansion settings, the desyncs in multiplayer, and several other less severe bugs.
You can access this version by selecting the patchpreview branch on the betas tab of the game's properties. Once we are confident these fixes do not cause unexpected major issues, they will be officially released as a patch.
Many thanks to Ninakoru, CaptainCobbs, and Knofbath for their help finding the fixes to these issues.

Changelog
  • Fixed an error were certain combinations of Academy Expansion and Metaplot Quest would cause a "pending turn"
  • Fixed an error where destroying a pirate lair would desync multiplayer sessions
  • Fixed an error where Lasers and Beams did not fire on the intended cooldown
  • Fixed an error were flak damage is displayed incorrectly
  • Fixed ship designs for Quests, Pirates, and Minor Factions
  • Fixed a problem where two population types with the same trait would be boosted by boosting either of them
  • Fixed several population assimilation traits
  • Fixed an error where the effect of the "Infallible Authority" Vodyani skill did not scale with hero level
  • Fixed an error where ships did not receive a base repair rate in friendly territory
  • Fixed an error where Nakalim science buildings counted all Relics instead of unassigned Relics
  • Fixed an error where the Nakalim "-50% science from ship destruction" trait was applied twice
  • Fixed an error where the tooltip of the "Research Cities" improvement was incomplete
  • Fixed an error where building and population loss did not work properly on some Nakalim ground strategies
  • Fixed an error where the influence gained from Gossamer did not display properly in the yield breakdown
  • Fixed an error where Lost Cities applied their approval bonus incorrectly
  • Changed Bombardment Damage improvements so they do not all provide the same value
  • Fixed an error where Cultural Invertics was always shown as a faction-specific technology
  • Fixed an error where the Heavenly Campus improvement used incorrect construction requirements
  • Fixed an error where the Mavros Skunkworks tooltip incorrectly showed a bonus to ship health
  • Fixed an error where invading/defending troop damage was displayed as bombardment damage
  • Fixed an error where the Unstable Isotopes and Focused Plasma icons were swapped
  • Fixed an error where UI elements were missing for resources affected by the Politics relic
  • Fixed an error where the Xirmisala "Dust Dowsing" law description did not display properly
  • Fixed errors with Immaterial Connection and Sublime University icons
  • Fixed an error where Scour and Rise Up ground battle strategies did not properly replace Preemptive Bombing and Rally when available
  • Fixed an error with the progression of the Unexpected Entropy quest
  • Fixed an error where Academy systems were not immune to influence conversion
  • Fixed an error where various Relic bonuses were not applied properly
  • Fixed an error where the tooltip of the Low-Quality Foundations anomaly was incorrect
  • Fixed an error where Planet FIDSI could not be negative from modifiers
  • Fixed various errors in planet resource tooltips
  • Fixed an error where Gjallarfire and Pirate Laser weapons had no weapon type
  • Fixed "Hardship Ready" applying a too high resource penalty
  • Changed the pug hero's classification to Overseer to match their skill tree

Looks like most of these are from the Community Fixes mod and it's great they are being applied to the base game by default. Thank you all for getting this done!

Yes, indeed. Cobbs, Knofbath, and Ninakoru have kindly given us the right to integrate these in the official release, and I am very grateful for that. We'll see to adding them to the credits in the special thanks section (though I think they may already be there)

There are issues with loading a save game, it just gives an error message then crashes

Since we made major changes to the structure of the metaplot quest, old saves may not be compatible.

vodyani quest on turn 5 is impossible now on hard or above with any combination of weapons using the whole fleet?

so we just have to start over now, or will y'all make the patch more compatible?

since this update, when I play the game (no mods) - regardless of what faction I play, when I reach around round 120-130, the game just... freezes.

If I reload the latest auto-save, it'll just freeze. If I load the auto-save from the round before, it'll freeze again when it reaches the next round.

WTF?

Does this hotfix fix the Riftborn Singularity bug ( https://community.amplitude-studios.com/amplitude-studios/endless-space-2/forums/114-bug-reports/threads/36571-possible-riftborn-singularity-persistence-stacking-bug?page=1 ) ?

Is this even still a thing? I can't find any evidence that it has been fixed, but it seems like a total game-breaker if the Riftborn are present.
