Can you pay for your subscription using your steam wallet?
So I got this game a few months ago (bought from Walmart) and was wondering if it was possible to pay for my subscription through my steam wallet and if it was possible does this mean I have to buy a steam copy of the game or is it possible to link my ffxiv account to my steam account?

If you already registered a windows key to your account, you're out of luck.

So I would pretty much have to rebuy the game on steam and register it to my steam account if I want to use my steam wallet for my monthly subscriptions

I think that u can add the game to your steam account. I don't do this, cause I bought the game on steam, but I know that exist an option when u can add a no steam game to your account if it is installed on your Windows.

But will I be able to use the money in my steam wallet to pay for the monthly subscriptions if I registered it through a windows key and not a steam one?
Buying the game from steam gives you the option to pay through your Steam wallet but the game must be registered on your account for it to work.

Log into Mogstation to see if you can pay your subs tru Steam wallet

https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/Login?cont=account&request=mogstation

Log in wth your Game ID and Password the ones you used to log into the game and Ignore the one time password if you havent set it up.

At the subscriptions paying it should see like this.

If not then you need to get a Steam version of the game

STOP
--------

If you owned a copy of FFXIV and had it registered to your SE account (basically, you've paid for the client before on PC and played it) then you will NOT be able to register a steam key to your account. You cannot replace an existing key with another one for that same platform. This means if you REALLY want to use Steam Wallet to pay for your subscription, you will essentially have to start over from scratch by making a new service account (a new game account).

If you owned only a PS3 or PS4 license, you can buy a license on Steam and have access to Steam wallet that way.

Bottom line, if you owned a PC license before, you don't have a choice. You cannot (ever) use Steam Wallet to pay for your subscription. Sucks for us Early Adopters.

Yes u can use your steam wallet. You just need to acces de mog station: https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/Login?cont=account&request=mogstation
Is the same password that u use in game. Then u choose the option "subscription payment: Steam Wallet". I do this every time. :)
