Despite that loophole, SE's already acknowledged that it happens. Asked people to knock it off, but will be changing the items to prevent the sale of them.

The ability to sell the Bonding Bands for gil is an unexpected side effect.

I think inorder for SE to stop gil sellers they would have to shut down the market boards, or make it impossible for ppl to send/trade gil.

It's a balance between spending money on anti-RMT / gold farmer activities or the 2014 Christmas Bonus (it was a bucket of KFC. A BIG bucket).

It's not a big deal anyway since most of the BIS stuff is bind on pickup. Crafted BIS is around 3~6 mil gil per piece, but actually buying gil for that kinda defeats the purpose of logging in to FFXIV.
