Redownloading on new PC, CD Key Issue
Got a new PC, and I am trying to redownload this game (tried via Steam and the FFXIV website) but both ways I get the same issue.

When opening the launcher, it has me enter the CD key, which apparently is already registered to my old PC, and not my Steam account. So with the CD key Steam gives me, I can't get any further in the download. I tried contacting Square Enix support asking how I get past this. But they haven't replied since the automated reply on Thursday morning.
Wondering if anyone here has advice. Because apparently Square doesn't want to help.

Why would you need a CD key in the first place? Once you register it, you just have to log in. I've played FFXIV on many computers and I've never had this issue myself. I'm starting to wonder if people are using different launchers....

I'm literally clicking play from Steam, it starts the launcher and says click next to set up a Square Enix account. Gives me no option to log into my existing account.

I'd click "I currently posses a Square Enix account'

Also, remember, if you aren't sub, the program wil think you don't own a account or you were playing on a free trail. Something like that. It's really dumb.

Yup, I've gotten to that, clicked I posses one. It asks for a CD key afterwards. Entered the one Steam gives me, Square tells me to GTFO.

My sub did expire the other day. Maybe thats causing it?

Re-sub, and that should fix the problem! ^^ Don't quote me on that... I don't want to cause you to lose 15 dollars.

But, based on my experiences, if one does not have a subscription, you get this mesage:

After I subscribed, I was able to login the launcher and actually download the game, which is DUMB.

They should allow users to download the game even if they don't have a subscription.

Yeah, that is dumb. I went and resubbed, everything suddenly worked...

That's good! I'm glad it worked! I hpoe you don't hate me in the future for casuing you to lose 15 dollars xD

Its so they aren't giving their software away for free, makes perfect sense :P
