Every time someone post their art on r/ffxiv, I cant help but feel "yeah, AI would do a much better job than you". Does anyone else feel this way? lol.

Sometimes, but not always.

AI has a habit of occasionally putting out some rather disturbing stuff. You'll see people with extra limbs, extra ears, extra fingers, etc. Then you have some cases where people are deformed and they look like some kind of monster from John Carpenter's: The Thing.

That's just a limit of the person's prompts - such things can be avoided by someone who knows how to prompt well.

Yes, the constant slop that gets posted to XIV's sub-Reddit is awful. Par for the course for most Western artists.

r/ffxiv has been bad takes and bad art now for years. There's zero reason to go there if you aren't looking for a pat on the back for being the lowest common denominator.

You're right but everyone wants to make believe otherwise. 'Artists' feel slighted that a bunch of algorithms and data samples do their job better but forget AI is just another tool to assist people and not the evil boogeyman others think it is.
